Many many years ago, I watched the award-winning Stan Lai movie adaptation of a popular Chinese play, starring Lin Ching-Hsia, called "暗恋桃花源" (Secret Love In Peach Blossom Land), and was pretty impressed by the staging and concept. And of course the acting was excellent...
The stage version of this film, which is really a play within a play, will now be performed by Performance Workshop and Ming Hua Yuan Taiwanese Opera Company Taiwan at Esplanade Theatre on the 23 & 24 February, for the Huayi Chinese Festival of Arts 2007. 暗恋桃花源
And I'll be watching the 8pm show on 24 February (Saturday)...
It might be considered late to buy tickets at this point. But anyone who wish to watch this show with me, do come meet me at Raffles City Shopping Centre's SISTIC counter at 7pm sharp TONIGHT, to book tickets together...
Well, note that we might not all get to sit together, since I doubt there'll be many empty seats left in groups, and we might prefer seats in different price range. But it will be fun to go together, and discuss the show over supper afterwards...
So far, those going include:
sebbyboi,
modestly_urs and myself...
I might not be able to read comments till late tonight, so if you're keen, just come as I mentioned above...
See ya!

wanted to get the tickets earlier.. but can't find any kakis who are as cheapo as me to get the cheapest tix.. :|
anyway, was quite impressed with the movie 12/13 years back.. had to memorise 桃花源 for my C lit classes, and our teacher actually recommended the movie to us.. ahhh.. time really flies.. can't remember much of the 古文 now.. :P
I thought the movie back then was pretty "advanced". But good thing is that I don't have such a good memory for shows, so I am sure watching this play will still be a new experience for me. :)
