I just collected the scans from my 2nd roll of film today!

In this roll, I used Fujichrome Sensia 200 colour slides film, so that I could try out all that marvellous cross-processing that I'd heard so much about and been trying to recreate using Photoshop previously...

I happened to be near the Singapore Botanic Gardens on Monday, and it was not raining (surprise, surprise!), so I took the opportunity to hop over and snap some greenery...

Another thing is that in order to shoot more within one roll of 36 exposure film, I decided to do more double-exposures, meaning shooting two images within one single frame. That way, I could tell two stories at once! But more importantly, allow the darker photos to "share" the light and avoid total underexposure...

I like no. 9 and 12. No. 9 looks like a radial web from the pavilion. No. 12 reminds me of an oil painting.

Thanks! I was so afraid that lift worker would see my face at the small peephole and get startled and fall through the hole in the platform! LOL

very nicely done! the double exposure shots! Just wondering why is it so grainy? Is it the scanner problem or the pictures itself? Might consider changing to iso100 films next time.

I am not sure how to control the graininess yet, but I suspect it's cos most of my pics were shot under relatively low lighting conditions, and the double exposures made it worse.

For my next two films, I'm using ISO 100 films, but will still be experimenting with double-exposures. Hope the grains will not be TOO obvious... :P

Yeah..I'm just thinking it looks quite different frm my shots because they are not as grainy even though i'm on iso400. Im thinking it might be cross processing too..

Inside the lifesaver was a helpless tortoise leh, so there won't be any Sadakos popping out (unless it's a tortoise spirit)... :P

HWMBO and I went out to dinner with [info]sinnerz last night and talked about the Botanical Gardens, where he works. He's been getting some experience at the Eden Project in Cornwall and Kew Gardens here in London. Your pictures are lovely and I'm sure we'll spend some time in the Botanical Gardens when we get to Singapore in October.

How cool! I think many of the gardens and parks in London are beautiful! Perhaps it has to do with the changing seasons? Do take more photos and post! :P

Haha I really never leave home without my camera! Perhaps you just need to have a pocket-sized camera, or one that you can easily bring along on you everywhere you go, and keep on shooting! :)

Haha don't ever doubt your own creativity! I suppose having the Lomo camera does help provide more opportunities for experimentation. Give it a try too! :)

there's a secret with double exposure
both picture try to get some darker area
since the darker area arent expose..
the second exposure will take over it

if both is nicely expose..
then u might see only first pic with hint of second pic
and both fighting for the spot :D

Thanks for the tip! It definitely makes sense! :P

In #04, 05, 19 and 23, I tried blocking half the lens with my finger for the 1st exposure, and then during the 2nd exposure, I blocked the other half. Was trying to see if I could avoid half the overlapping of images, and it kinda worked! :)

Here are my pick for fav lomo pics by Nemo . . .

1,2,3,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,19,20,21,22,23,24,26.

When I looked at them, somehow I envision a story in my mind by the pics. Can I download these pics of botanic gardens and try to conjure up a story in "lomo"?

Getting better at it,eh! Just after 2 rolls you are really good. Imagine given time, how good you will be!

I would love to begin the story with the shot of your shoe on the grass...

I was thinking of the life of a boy name Edric who gotten a present from Santa Claus... guess what... it's a lomo!!! Then progressively readers get to see that he has a flair for photography and a naturalist.

Children may like these shots because of the mixture of colours and portrayal of the photo in a different perspective...It could be an A4 book...
