Thanks once again to all you folks who had offered solutions and tips and encouragement during the past two days' nightmare, but finally, after meeting squido just now, and fiddling over the deviant laptop for more than 2 hours, we managed to solve the boot-up problems!!!

It was, I think, a case of replacing that offending "msvcrt.dll" file with a working one. And kicking off a Trojan or two after starting up...

THAT'S ALL?!?!! (-_- )"

Anyway... hurray! We're back in business!!!

Now I am back at home, typing this on Semagic as usual, and praying to the Computer Gods and Goddesses that I had been punished enough already for any past misdeeds, and would they PLEASE let me have a stress-free and normal life back on the Internet!

Another virus that I finally got rid of is the one that caused my recent food poisoning case over the weekend...

I hadn't mentioned that I almost died (or wished I had died), but the ordeal was even more horrible than the previous one just a few months ago...

It was really serious, but me being the type who only fall sick during weekends when the clinics are closed, opted for self-medication instead...

So, what ailed me? Char Kway Teow with extra See Hum, and lots of heaty foodstuff...

What cured me? 2 days of fasting followed by Kaya toast with lots of homemade barley (all from the coffeeshop lah!) and lots of 100 Plus isotonic drinks and Rowntree Fruit Tips candies...

Plus Po Chai Pills and gallons of water!

Thank goodness for my many months of medic training during my NS days!!! :-)
