Make up your mind

  • Nov. 29th, 2009 at 10:03 PM

It always mystifies me at how much people just love playing mind games. Especially when it comes to interpersonal relationships.

For goodness sake will it kill you to state upfront what are you interested in? I don't know how the rest of you function but I label and classify everyone into neat little categories within my mind, and I react and behave accordingly. Thus I will be very different when I'm with a guy whom is date material, whom I'm fucking only, and whom I've purely no any form of interest in except for friendship. There may be inbetweens here and there but my guidelines are there and there is a limit to how much I will go in each.

I find it very beneficial and helpful to declare my intentions at the beginning as it really saves so much time, effort and drama. For example if I know that you're simply interested in my ass, I won't dream of wasting time engaging you in an intellectual conversation about how the world would be like if Ancient Egypt was the dominant power rather than Ancient Rome. Don't you just agree on the amount of shit we would be sparing ourselves if we make clear what we want in the first place?

There really are no excuses about unsure what I want especially at our age. If you are unsure if you want to date or fuck me, I kindly suggest you find some underaged brat to practise your wasting time on. I have better things to do than help you figure out if you want my heart or my ass. It is so unattractive to be such an indecisive man!

AND generally speaking also as a rule, if the guy is not sure whether he wants a fuck or a date, chances are 75% he just wants to fuck but too hum-ji shy to state it out.

茶道 (The Art of Tea)

  • Nov. 29th, 2009 at 9:07 PM
茶道 (The Art of Tea) is a meticulous "process" which has been a long-standing chinese tradition. We tried it this evening. Although I think we missed many steps, but not bad for a first timer... :)

This is the basic tea set.

In the beginning, the set is cleaned. The first brew of tea is used to wash the cups and bowls. It is never drank.

Tea is brewed in the bowl with the lid, for a maximum of 10 seconds only. It is then poured into the teapot. From the teapot, it is poured via the sieve into the individual tiny cups. That's what's served to the tea drinkers (appreciators?).

The 2nd brew onwards is the one served.

Ah... bliss... That's my brother enjoying his cup of tea.

Was my privilege to be on duty for the first Advent Mass just now at 630pm. Watching the first advent candle being lit as I was playing "O Come Divine Messiah" with the congregation singing with full voice filled me with a rather strange feeling- funny thoughts went through my mind - I will have to process them accordingly.

At Vespers just now, the ancient hymn Veni, redemptor gentium - O Come, Redeemer of the Earth was indicated. It was written by Bishop St Ambrose of Milan (340-397). Singing it (although in English) connected me through the centuries - it was a nice feeling. I wonder if St Ambrose ever imagined that people will sing his hymn for more than a thousand years (and continuously) during Advent.

Here are the words in English and Latin:

http://www.preces-latinae.org/thesaurus/Hymni/VeniRedemptorG.html

How it is sung in choir : (a bit messed up towards the end)

very INTERESTINGLY sung ... (LOLLLL - she only gets ONE verse down to pat.. den anyhow the rest .. lolll)

how it should be sung: By the unadorned human voice, resounding in a vaulted ceiling cathedral, yes, in Milan. I wonder if St Ambrose sang it like this:

So Christmas is going to arrive - whether one is ready or not; so I wish all my Christian friends, especially Catholics, Anglicans and the traditional Christians - May the season of Advent be fruitful for you indeed. I am quite determined to make it a fruitful one for me, and from the looks of the Advent duty roster, it will be a busy one for me too.

Which is good.

you know horrrr .. all this advent christmas lent easter and wat not green-purple-red-white hooha could have been so EASILY AVOIDED if God had just created Adam and Eve CHINESE - they would not be tempted by the apple AT ALL lorrr .. u know whyy ??

First Practical Lesson

  • Nov. 28th, 2009 at 9:16 PM
I am now ready to do my basic theory test. Already signed up for the test on 21 December --- after I come back from my business trip. Wish me luck.

In the meantime, I started my practical --- pretty nervous, but first time behind the driving wheel after 20 years. Remembered my first driving lesson last time, the instructor already asked me to drive around my housing estate. Here, my first lesson, the instructor touches on a little more details. Still the jitters still there --- so much so I was clutching the steering wheel very hard. After a while, the driving feeling slowly came back.

Hope I can slowly regain my driving confidence again.

Guess the next lesson will still be in the circuit since I have not got my Basic Theory yet.
