Last week I went for a last minute casting for a minor role in a new foreign TV series, and the good news is...
I got the part!!!
Well, I can't say much about it as yet, as you know how such stuff tends to be pretty hush-hush...
But I can say this...
The shoot will be done at...

And so, in an hour's time, I'll be making my way over to Changi Airport, and will meet up with a few other local actors, before flying over together to Cape Town...
To say it's a dream come true is an understatement, but this particular opportunity couldn't have arrived at a better time...
I shall be back home next Saturday (2nd May) morning...
In the meantime, I probably will be offline for the whole trip...
I've still got an hour to pack, but my spirit is already on its way there!
Wish me luck!!!

Well, it's been slightly over 3 months since the shoot (see entry and behind-the-scenes photos here), but it's finally going on air tonight...
For those who have no idea what is going on, or like me, haven't turned on your TV for ages, time to tune in to...
And nope, I don't really need any massage from anyone now...
Really! ;-P

It was a huge cast of about twenty talents, and my role was a very minor one, but I got to know many talented and interesting folks from this shoot, several of them up and coming movie stars!
Here's some name-dropping of some of the cast members in no particular order (also to help me remember everyone when I re-read this entry years later): Jimmy Taenaka, Justin Lim, William Lawandi, Daniel Ng, Foyce Le Xuan, Santhanaram Jayaram (Ram), Allister Seah, Ian, Michael, Chris, Grace, Fiti, etc...
There was a copious amount of waiting time during this full day shoot, so to maximise my time, I did what I often do: take photos...
Some of the talents were amused at how much pics I took of them and myself...
Well, all I can say is that,
Moreover, I do have a blog with the purpose of posting up these photos, and here they are...
Due to insufficient lighting, many of these pics turned out rather grainy. Still, it's worth a shot (literally)...
Well as I said, I can't reveal too much about this ad right now, so no point asking me anything about who, where, which, what or why...
And oh, comments are very welcome, but please do exercise self-censorship on this public blog ya? ;-)

A couple of days ago, I was involved in a one-day film shoot for a similar episode in a series of in-house videos commissioned by the Singapore Prison Services...
But this time, I played an ex-offender who helped a new addict at the halfway house...
Entitled "The Ring" (no relation to Sadako), it was written by Peggy Ferroa and produced by FPIX Productions...
Some of you might recognise Peggy as well as local actor Fish Chaar (no relation to charred fish), for they had both appeared in many TV productions...
The final video will not be available for public viewing though, for it is to be shown to the inmates and ex-offenders in the local prisons to encourage them to turn over a new leaf and give them support and confidence when they re-enter society...
And, of course, here are the photos that I took...

Cast and Crew of "The Ring"
All in all, it was a straightforward but fun shoot, and I hope to work with these guys again soon...
The day after this, I was involved in a new TV commercial that won't be shown here for the local public either, but that's for the next entry... :-)

Here's something to share with everyone...
Most of us are blessed with good health and lead happy healthy lives. But there are also many people who are less fortunate, who suffer from physical handicaps due to genetics or accidents...
If you who would like to show your support for these folks with disabilities, either financially, spiritually, or physically, do check out the upcoming latest run of...
Please click on the above link to find out more about the show...
To generate interest for this fund-raising concert, the producers of the show has created a little promotional video segment and posted on Youtube...
You can read about the "making of" the video or view the photos in my earlier entry:
And watch the video right here...
So... don't forget your date with us! :-)

And, finally, please do help spread the word (and the video!)...

After shifting focus from film and theatre to my current illustration and graphic design career, and sating my wanderlust with frequent travels, I finally found time yesterday to be involved in my first film shoot of the year...
I was invited to appear in the promotional trailer video for "A Nation In Concert", a charity event that benefits the handicapped in several participating organisations, and I got to act with the soon-to-be-wed-in-Paris and former-Mediacorp artiste, Carole Lin...
Also appearing in this video are four "Hunky Ants" (played by Kenneth, Joseph, Wei and Jeremy), as well as sign-language performer Melvin, who were featured in previous performances of this show...
The crew for this shoot included Jerry Siah (Producer/Trailer Script), David Kong (Financier), Terence Teo (Director), Manfred (Camera/Editor), Tan Soon Kiat (Camera), and Alvin Lim etc...
For those who'd watched previous runs of "A Nation In Concert", this new production, complete with new script by local playwright Desmond Lim, and featuring additional new cast, will be staged at Victoria Theatre on 11th & 12th October, 2008...
Okay, enough background talk. Here are the photos taken by David and I during the shoot, and gleaned off his blog...
The shoot went pretty well and we wrapped way ahead of time. I don't know about the rest, but I had a lot of fun!
And thankfully it didn't rain as it did the past few days. I am now a few shades redder from the blazing sun...
Can't wait to see the final video on Youtube soon! :)
